Product description
This floor lamp by Solbackens Svarveri, model 1001, is a distinctive example of Swedish lighting design. The piece is defined by its articulated wooden neck, allowing for flexible positioning of the light source.Constructed entirely from wood, the lamp features a warm, natural grain that highlights its Scandinavian origins. The design incorporates a solid circular base and a slender, segmented stem that transitions into an adjustable upper section. The rectangular shade houses a fluorescent tube, providing a soft, diffused light. The original manufacturer's label, indicating a 220V specification, is present on the underside of the base. The lamp remains in very good condition, retaining its original finish and structural integrity. The wood exhibits a gentle patina consistent with age, while the articulated joints function smoothly. The electrical components appear to be original. This piece is well-suited for a reading nook or beside a lounge chair, offering both functional task lighting and a sculptural presence. Its organic material and clean lines make it a natural fit for Mid-Century Modern or contemporary Scandinavian interiors.
