Product description
This fireplace bench, known as a "cantou," originates from the South of France (20th century) and is an authentic example of 20th-century French craftsmanship. Its distinctive asymmetrical silhouette, with a partial backrest, was traditionally designed for sitting close to the hearth while offering protection from drafts.
The frame is crafted from turned solid wood, showcasing a rich brown hue and carved details on the uprights. The seat is woven from natural straw, providing a contrasting texture and color against the dark wood. Its dimensions and construction reflect rustic and functional craftsmanship.
This bench adds a touch of authenticity and warmth to any interior. It is ideally suited for an entryway, hallway, or as an extra seat in a rustic or country-style living room.
Dimensions: 76 x 37 cm, H: 64 cm, Seat height: 37 cm.
Materials: Wood - Woven straw.
