Product description
Fine earthenware, ironstone soup tureen with blue transfer decoration, "Carmen" model from the Sarreguemines factory, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. Beautiful round shape resting on a small pedestal, side handles and original lid, the whole adorned with a delicate floral decoration in an elegant and romantic naturalistic spirit.
Maximum width approx. 29cm including handles, diameter approx. 24cm, height approx. 24cm with lid and 14cm without. Very good general condition, there is a small hairline crack on the rim of the body and a second longer one near/at the base of a handle, both discreet and not weakening, some traces of external patina consistent with age, a fine and natural crazing of the enamel, as well as slight firing defects notably at the junction of a handle. Interior showing a slightly browned use patina with some stains, consistent with age and use. Approx. 1.200kg.
