Description
Fine line etching by the Dutch graphic artist Jan Poortenaar depicting a historic castle or city gate with towers, situated by a canal or river. The building, with its round towers and pointed roofs, is rendered with many architectural details and is surrounded by water and vegetation.
The etching is executed in a lively and precise linework, characteristic of Poortenaar's graphic work, who was known for his cityscapes, castles, and historic architecture.
