The statuette was made in the 1980s and is of Italian manufacture. An abstract figurative statuette made of metal with a polished surface, set on a black geometric base. The form draws on the mid-century modern style and the brutalist sculptural experiments of the 1960s and 1970s – the simplified human silhouette with organic cut-outs gives it a dynamic, sculptural character. A superb decorative accent in a modern or eclectic interior, reminiscent of the work of Henry Moore or Barbara Hepworth.
