Product description
This is a Pendant lamp by Felipe Derfinger, a characteristic example of Brutalist design from the mid-20th century. The piece is defined by the unique technique of hand-blown glass pressed through a metal frame, a method also known as 'caged glass' which gives each lamp a unique character.
The lamp is made from a combination of amber-colored glass and a copper-colored metal shade. This fixture has a height of 30 cm and a diameter of 14 cm, and comes with a chain of approximately 50 cm. The design, dating from the 1960s, is adorned with a cut-out sun motif, which creates a warm and atmospheric light effect when the lamp is lit.
The overall condition of the lamp is consistent with its age and use. The metal shows an authentic patina that contributes to its robust, Brutalist aesthetic. The handmade nature of the object means that small irregularities in the glass and metal are part of its original design and charm.
This lamp is a striking object that fits well into an interior with Mid-Century Modern, Brutalist or eclectic influences. It can serve as ambient lighting in a hallway, a reading nook or above a side table, where it adds a warm and artistic accent.
