A truly extraordinary object — the illuminated vanity mirror by Feliciani, Italy, originally designed in the 1970s, this example dating to the 1990s, in very good working condition with minor signs of use. Supplied with brand new batteries.
The form is pure Space Age theatre: a perfect circle of sage green and white plastic, the upper half forming a luminous opal arc that glows when switched on, the lower half a deep sage green base on three splayed feet. The circular mirror sits in the centre, framed by the glowing white halo above — the whole silhouette somewhere between a porthole, a spacecraft hatch and a Art Deco sunburst.
Unlit, it is already a striking decorative object — the two-tone green and white palette and the perfectly resolved circular geometry make it look like a prop from a Stanley Kubrick film set. Switch it on and the opal arc illuminates from within, casting a soft, even light across the mirror — exactly as a well-designed vanity mirror should, without shadows or harshness.
Feliciani's illuminated mirrors of this period are genuinely rare on the secondary market. This example is complete, working, and in very good condition — a serious find for collectors of Italian Space Age design.
