Product description
The FB18 Scissors chair, designed by Jan van Grunsven for Pastoe in the 1950s, is an iconic piece of Dutch design.
This model, known for its distinctive scissor-shaped frame, represents the innovative approach to seating furniture from the mid-twentieth century.
The chair is crafted with a black wooden frame that emphasizes the geometric lines of the design. The seat and backrest are upholstered in a multicolored, abstractly patterned fabric in shades of beige, green, pink, and purple. The construction displays the functionalist aesthetic typical of Pastoe's post-war production.
The furniture is in good condition, commensurate with its age and use. The wooden frame shows characteristic patina and the upholstery is intact, contributing to the authentic appearance of this vintage piece.
This armchair comes into its own perfectly in a Mid-Century Modern or eclectic interior. It is a striking accent piece for a living room or reading nook, where it adds both visual interest and historical design awareness.
