Very Good Condition
A low, one-piece seat, without visible feet or armrests, and a detached shield-shaped backrest. The curved steel structure and its webbing completely disappear under the foam: only a continuous silhouette remains.
Olivier Mourgue designed the Djinn series in 1964-1965 for Airborne. The name refers to djinns, spirits from Muslim tradition capable of changing form. Stanley Kubrick furnished the orbital station in 2001: A Space Odyssey with them, which permanently established the series as the image of the futuristic seat. An example is held in the collections of the Centre Pompidou.
Two identical armchairs are available, entirely re-upholstered in Kvadrat cotton velvet. They are sold individually or as a pair.
