Fabian took his first steps in contemporary art in 1992. He artistically made various objects, sculptures and statues from old iron and various metals. Experimenting, learning and above all enjoying was the motto under which he worked and sold his works to a small audience during that period.
It became clear that his artistic expressions did not go unnoticed when none other than the late Herman Brood appeared in his studio in 1995 and from that moment on an intensive collaboration arose. Herman visibly enjoyed Fabian's creativity and wanted to learn from him how to weld and create in metal.
The young artist enjoyed all the attention and support from Herman who taught him some intricacies. Not long after, the so-called Herman Brood trophy was created. The meetings between the two gentlemen followed one another at a rapid pace, after which Herman taught the young artist the intricacies of painting. On countless canvases, both worked together on the performance, with Fabian regularly taking care of the background. Fabian learned quickly and eagerly and both worked on Herman's artworks from countless locations.
