Wooden box entirely covered with hand-embossed leather, traditional West African work (Sahelian area, Tuareg/Hausa style). The lid features a highly sculptural relief decoration — motifs of concentric domes, spirals, and embossed lozenges. Walls, interior, and bottom are also entirely decorated with embossed leather (friezes and trellises), continuing the same craftsmanship. Interior fully lined with embossed leather, without added textile lining. Original riveted leather strap clasp. Condition: beautiful patina, small leather cracks at the corners consistent with the age of the piece. Dimensions: 24 x 18 x 7 cm — Weight: 768 g.
