The object before you is a clock of rare elegance, a true masterpiece of craftsmanship and symbolism. Crafted in finely chased gilded bronze, it is a tribute to both the arts and the sciences, two fields that have profoundly marked the history of mankind.
At first glance, the eye is immediately drawn to the female figure to the right of the clock. This woman, coiffed in an elegant chignon and adorned with delicate curls, is dressed in an Empire gown, a style that evokes the grace and simplicity of Antiquity. She represents Urania, the muse of astronomy in Greek mythology. Urania is often associated with the contemplation of the heavens and the quest for celestial knowledge. She leans nonchalantly on the clock's central post, adding a touch of serenity and majesty to the whole.
To the left of the clock, an astronomical telescope rests on a richly decorated column.
