Antique emerald green ceramic vase (c.1820).
Estimated age about 200 years, approximate year of manufacture: 1820. This antique ceramic vase has a height of 19 cm and a diameter of 23 cm. The ceramic structure was crystallized and the precious effect of the crystallization that occurred during the firing process can be seen in the detailed photos. It was recovered from Hunan province in an optimal state of preservation. This ancient Chinese vase is a unique piece of ceramic, handcrafted according to the standards of the moment. It should be said that it is currently difficult to find pieces of this age with this good state of conservation.

– HISTORIC NOTE –
China has been for many centuries a benchmark in the manufacture of vases and articles made of ceramics. Porcelain vases, which were appreciated in high European royal spheres as a symbol of status and power, became especially famous.
Ceramics per se are known worldwide, although the details of the manufacture and especially the distinction between different qualities of ceramics remain quite unknown to the public. In general, two large groups can be distinguished: low-temperature firing ceramics and high-temperature firing ceramics. Porcelain is the example of high temperature firing that begins to cook from 1000 degrees. On the other hand, ceramics composed basically of clay are fired from 400 degrees and do not have the hardness that porcelain can have. For this reason, low-temperature ceramics have had a basically ornamental use.
