A decorative piece with refined Asian charm
Superb baluster porcelain vase, adorned with a remarkable polychrome decor inspired by Chinese decorative art.
Its harmonious silhouette, with a generous belly, a flared neck and a circular foot, particularly highlights the richness of its ornamentation.
The belly features a delicate figurative scene depicting characters in traditional costumes in a landscaped garden, adorned with trees and vegetation. The other side offers a more refined plant composition, creating a beautiful visual balance.
The neck is particularly elaborate: a profusion of floral and ornamental motifs in shades of pink, purple, turquoise, blue and green, highlighted by fine gilded borders.
A particularly interesting marking
Under the base is the Chinese inscription:
景德镇陶瓷 – Jǐngdézhèn Táocí
Meaning "Jingdezhen Porcelain", in reference to the famous Chinese city historically associated with the art of porcelain.
A second inscription, 意大利 – Yìdàlì, means "Italy".
This double marking constitutes an interesting detail for lovers of Asian porcelains and their distribution channels. However, it does not, by itself, allow for precise determination of the manufacturer or period of manufacture.
