Product description
"New Circus 'F'" UV print on 3 x acrylic glass / multi-part mixed media, backed with gold foil. Framed in a wooden frame. Year: 2019 signed, dated and titled on label Condition: in good condition, gold foil in the background slightly wavy Size: 42.0 × 42.0 cm Ben Eine, born in London, is one of the most successful letterform artists in the world and is considered a pioneer in the exploration of contemporary typographic art. Originally a graffiti writer, Eine began his career over 30 years ago and left his first tag all over London before developing his distinctive typographic style. Eine began painting huge, bright and colorful letters on shutters across East London, creating beautiful shapes executed with a relentless "graffiti mentality" - painting over sixty shutters in a few months. These imposing, but unattributed, anonymously painted letters stood out from the usual tags and dubs seen on the street. They caught the public's attention and led the way in the rise of street art popularity. One's partnership with then-emerging London graffiti artist Banksy was highly influential in the commercial success of both artists. In 2003, the pair founded the famous Pictures on Walls gallery with a loose collective of other artists to print and sell street art. POW was founded in the spirit of punk's DIY movement because, as Eine recalls: "There was no gallery in London or the world that would touch what we were doing". Fashion has always been a love of For One. He enjoys an ongoing collaboration with Louis Vuitton as well as his own clothing brand, Eine London, which launched to great success at London Fashion Week 2018. Eine's international acclaim was further heightened when British Prime Minister David Cameron gifted his 'Twenty First Century City' artwork to President Obama in 2010. His work is now in the permanent collections of the V&A Museum London, The Museum of Modern Art Los Angeles, San Francisco's Museum of Contemporary Art, Berlin's Urban Nation Street Art Museum, Los Angeles "Beyond The Streets" and The Dean Collection, as well as the private collection of Louis Vuitton and numerous other commercial institutions.
