About this seller
ProfessionalProduct description
Solid oak wood, handmade with mortise and tenon joints as was customary in the past. The year 1837 is hand-carved on the leg, along with an elegant cross motif. I don't know if this is the year of construction or a later addition.
The top shows signs of use: precisely the imperfections that make a piece alive and honest. Nothing here is polished to perfection — and that is its beauty. Wabi-sabi in its purest form: beauty in transience, in imperfections, in the signs of a long life.
Recently re-waxed, making the wood look deep and warm again. Very sturdy and stable.
