Product description
Here's a fantastic set from renowned architect Frank Gehry for Vitra, crafted from an unexpected material: corrugated cardboard. This is the iconic Wiggle Side Chair and matching stool, a design that famously elevated an everyday material into a sculptural and functional object.
Part of Gehry's 1972 'Easy Edges' furniture series, these pieces are constructed from layers of glued corrugated cardboard, making them surprisingly robust and comfortable. The natural brown colour of the cardboard is framed by smooth hardboard edges, highlighting the unique, ribbon-like silhouette. This set is a landmark of Postmodern design, celebrated for its innovative use of materials and playful form.
This particular chair and stool are in exceptional condition, showing the clean lines and sharp form as intended by the designer. The set feels both sculptural and inviting, a true conversation starter. It's a chance to own a piece of design history that is still produced by Vitra today due to its enduring appeal.
This duo works beautifully as a functional accent in a living room, study, or creative space. It adds an element of architectural interest and organic texture to modern, minimalist, or eclectic interiors.
