Product description
Rare Eames EC176 ‘Loose Cushion’ armchair, designed by Charles & Ray Eames for Herman Miller and introduced in 1971. The model is also frequently referred to as EA178 or EC178. This example features the less common tilt-swivel version with height adjustment, mounted on the cast aluminium Eames Universal Base with glides. The off-white fiberglass shell with black rim has recently been reupholstered in a warm brown-beige melange fabric, including the loose seat cushion from which the model derives its name. In good vintage condition with signs of wear consistent with age and use. Equipped with original Herman Miller label. Collector's item.
