A timeless design classic from the Dutch Originals collection: this elegant Gispen wall coat rack, crafted from high-gloss chrome-plated steel, is based on the iconic design by Willem Hendrik Gispen from 1933. The characteristic rounded tubular construction, the practical hat shelf, and the eight double hooks make this a textbook example of functional Dutch design.
W.H. Gispen's design is one of the highlights of Dutch modernism. His designs are characterized by a clear formal language in which functionality, durability, and aesthetics come together perfectly. The original Gispen designs are currently being reproduced by Dutch Originals, the official manufacturer of various historic Dutch design classics.
This wall coat rack is finished in polished chrome and offers ample space for coats, hats, scarves, and bags. The top shelf is ideal for hats or storage baskets, while the double hooks create many hanging options without disrupting the sleek design. Thanks to its minimalist appearance, this coat rack fits effortlessly into both modern and vintage interiors, from hallways and offices to lofts or reception areas. A Dutch Originals label is still present on the tube. The design and dimensions correspond to model 1012, equipped with eight hooks and a practical hat shelf.
The coat rack is in beautiful vintage condition with normal, age-related signs of use. The chrome shows light scratches and a few minor signs of wear consistent with years of careful use.
