The design belongs to the heyday of contemporary Dutch Design around the turn of the millennium. Slingerland graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven during that period, where he specialized in casting clay in small series. The series has since grown into a classic and recognizable part of his oeuvre. Dutch designer Olav Slingerland created this set of four ceramic bowls, titled 'Over the Edge'. This design from the year 2000 is characterized by organic, inwardly flowing edges that form a strong visual contrast with the sleek base.
The set is crafted from high-quality ceramics and consists of one large bowl and three smaller ones. The exterior is finished in a matte white shade, while the interior features a deep, glossy blue glaze. This interplay of textures and colors emphasizes the flowing lines of the design.
