Piece of history about Gispen:
Willem Hendrik Gispen was a Dutch industrial designer and entrepreneur. After his education as a teacher, Gispen visited England several times, where he came in contact with the arts-and-crafts movement. In 1913, he applied to the Academy of Arts and Technical Sciences in Rotterdam.
