This is a classic wooden etagere, also known as a dumbwaiter, dating from circa 1860. The piece of furniture is characterized by its elegant, turned wooden uprights and three spacious, open shelves that lend a refined appearance to the design.
Crafted from solid mahogany in a warm, brown hue, this etagere showcases 19th-century craftsmanship. The construction consists of three levels with raised edges, supported by decorative turned columns ending in spherical knobs at the top and sturdy legs at the bottom. The rich wood grain and deep color contribute to the authentic character of the furniture. The piece originates from England, as stated in the accompanying appraisal report from Van der Steen Antiquairs dated 2006.
