Product description
Mid-Century Italian Bar Cabinet — Attributed to Vittorio Dassi
A striking example of Italian mid-century design, this elegant bar cabinet combines rich dark walnut tones with sculptural splayed legs, brass detailing, and a distinctive elevated glass serving shelf.
The beautifully proportioned cabinet features a warm wood-veneered case with a refined decorative front, complemented by slender dark legs that give the substantial cabinet an unexpectedly light and architectural appearance. Above, the original-style glass shelf is supported by brass rods and dark metal brackets, creating an elegant display and serving area.
Designed for entertaining, the cabinet would have provided discreet storage for bottles, glassware, and bar accessories, while the raised glass surface offered a practical area for serving cocktails and drinks.
The combination of walnut, brass, black-painted elements and glass is quintessentially Italian and reflects the sophisticated modernism of the 1950s–60s. The piece is attributed to Vittorio Dassi, whose celebrated furniture designs are known for their luxurious materials, sculptural forms and beautifully considered details.
A highly decorative and functional statement piece, this cabinet would work equally well as a cocktail bar, drinks cabinet, or distinctive storage piece in a contemporary or mid-century interior.
