This work is a 'Dream Drawing' by the Dutch artist Paul Klemann. Klemann is known for his practice of capturing his own dreams immediately after waking in detailed drawings, resulting in a unique visual diary of his subconscious. This specific piece is a striking example of his surrealist style.
The drawing is executed on paper, presumably with colored pencil, and depicts a lively and complex scene. The composition combines animal figures with abstract, architectural forms in a palette of mainly red, yellow, blue, and green. The work is professionally framed in a simple wooden frame with a white passe-partout, which focuses attention on the detailed image. The dimensions including the frame are 75 cm wide and 61 cm high.
The artwork itself is in excellent condition, protected behind glass. The colors are bright and the paper is intact. The wooden frame is also in good condition and complements the work without distracting from it. The artist's signature is visible in the lower left corner of the drawing.
This Dream Drawing is a fascinating piece that will appeal to lovers of surrealism as well as figurative art. The work is suitable for various interiors, from modern to eclectic, and functions as an intriguing eye-catcher on the wall in a living room, study, or hallway.
