NS station clock
We see the familiar blue round clocks of the NS more often, but you rarely come across this much larger square variant by Telenorma. What a device! On the side of the clock was once the container with the arrival/departure times.
This subsidiary clock (slave clock/pulse clock) normally only works with a master clock (the pulse generator), we have equipped this clock with a battery-powered pulse generator and so the original clockwork has been preserved. This 24V pulse generator is mounted on a cable outside the clock and with this the time can also be adjusted. So when the clock is hung a little higher it can still be operated from the ground.
In addition, the double-sided clock has lighting (new fluorescent tubes), which can be turned on or off with the switch on the outside.
Of the two power cables coming out of the clock on the side, one is from the 24V pulse generator, the other from the lighting (switched separately) and from the beautiful red seconds hand. To run the seconds hand, it always needs 220V, but without the power supply to the seconds hand, the clock also works and the seconds hand will be on the '12'. So if you don't have 220V nearby, the clock can still just do its job (without lighting and running second hand).
With the special key, the valves can be opened at the bottom of the clock (see photos). The valves remain open because of the gas springs.
The movements have been checked, lubricated with clock oil and run perfectly. Originally there are plexiglass plates in front of the dials. These were scratched / damaged and we have replaced them with new plexiglass. The clock can be put down or hung from the eyes.
