This Dijkstra pendant lamp is a characteristic example of Space Age design from the 1960s and 1970s. Often referred to as a UFO lamp, the design stands out with its streamlined, futuristic silhouette and the recognizable layered shade construction typical of the lighting aesthetic of that era. The lamp is crafted from metal and an inner glass shade, finished in a cream white color scheme. The outer metal shade encloses an inner plastic diffuser, ensuring a soft, atmospheric downward light distribution while simultaneously creating a warm glow within the fixture's core. The original Dijkstra Lampen label is still present on the inner shade, confirming the authenticity of this Dutch design piece. The fixture is in good condition, commensurate with its age and previous use. The original finish has been preserved and the lamp functions properly, with the character of the vintage design remaining fully intact.
