The Digoin Sarreguemines factory produced, in the 1930s, a series of tableware pieces with refined curves and subtle decoration, intended for the bourgeois tables of the era. This gravy boat is a fine example of this. Its shape is characteristic of inter-war production: a flared fluted body, a four-lobed scalloped rim, and a pouring spout integrated into the body. The smooth and luminous cream ivory glaze features a scattering of small pink and blue floral bouquets, regularly distributed over the underplate. A gold line runs along the edge of the gravy boat and the underplate, highlighting the quality of the piece. On the back, the printed stamp "Digoin Sarreguemines France 9123" and the number 37 attest to its manufacture in 1937. Underplate diameter, approximately 16 cm. Gravy boat height, approximately 10 cm. Very satisfactory condition, gold line intact.
