A rare 1950s mid-century vintage sofa bed/daybed design classic from Switzerland by Dieter Wäckerlin for Idealheim is available here.
* The design is minimalist and clean, typical of Dieter Wäckerlin's designs.
* The sofa is functional and can be transformed into a daybed by pulling the seat forward using the built-in pendulum mechanism. In no time at all, you have a fully functional and comfortable sleeping space for one person.
* The sofa has been recently and professionally reupholstered with a high-quality, durable, and supple felt-wool-like fabric in the natural color "Melange Lilac" (see the last photo above for more details about the fabric).
* SIZE OF THE SLEEPING SURFACE when extended:
Length 200 cm x Width 75 cm
SEAT HEIGHT: 44 cm
MARKING
The object is documented in standard design literature and is therefore attributed to the designer/furniture manufacturer, but,
as is unfortunately so often the case with vintage objects, it no longer has a MARK.
However, in this case, after thorough research and with more than adequate expertise in Mid-Century Vintage objects, we are certain that it is the above-mentioned brand/model:
-Century Modern
The daybed is in restored (NEW) and therefore very good and well-kept vintage condition. It is ready for immediate use and can be used again for a long time without any maintenance. + However, there are of course still the usual traces of use, these are: Slight signs of use due to age, minor scratches and superficial paint abrasion and nicks on the metal frame, there is a very small drilled hole in the fabric on the back. + As already mentioned, the upholstery fabric is NEW and therefore clean and without signs of use. ..... However, all the above-mentioned signs of use are only visible a little more on closer inspection, without being serious ..... + The pictures are part of the condition description and show the general condition and the most important flaws. We therefore ask you to take a good look at the pictures above +
