Product description
Desk Lamp Blanc Negro Evoluon by Louis Kalff for Philips.
Produced in the Netherlands, 1950s
The Blanc Negro Evoluon desk lamp, designed by Louis Kalff for Philips in 1956, is a striking example of mid-century modern design at its most graphic and refined.
Kalff, renowned for shaping much of Philips’ visual identity in the mid-20th century, created a lamp that balances sculptural simplicity with bold contrast.
This model features a black metal base paired with a crisp white metal shade, creating a strong “blanc-negro” color dialogue that feels both architectural and elegant.
The clean lines and balanced proportions give the lamp a distinctly graphic presence, making it not just a functional lighting object but also a sculptural design piece.
What makes this particular model especially desirable is its apparent rarity.
Lamps from this Evoluon series seldom appear on the market, making surviving examples increasingly sought after.
Elegant, graphic, and collectible, the Blanc Negro Evoluon desk lamp stands as a small but powerful icon of Dutch post-war design.
