About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
An armchair designed by Martin Visser for Spectrum, a representative example of Dutch design from the 1960s. This piece is characterized by its sleek, minimalist lines and the thoughtful use of materials, which is typical of Visser's designs from this period.
The design combines a black metal frame with solid wooden armrests, creating a strong visual and material contrast. The seat and backrest are upholstered in a durable green textile fabric that accentuates the chair's geometric form. The construction is a testament to the functionalism for which the Dutch design school is known, where aesthetics and comfort come together.
The armchair is in very good condition, retaining its original character and structural integrity. The upholstery is intact and the colors are vibrant, indicating careful use over the years. The combination of materials has developed a light, authentic patina that adds to the historical value of the furniture.
This Martin Visser armchair is a timeless addition to various interior styles, from Mid-Century Modern to contemporary eclectic. It is a functional design object that can serve as both comfortable seating and a statement piece in a living room, study, or reading nook.
