vintage modernist chess set made of two-tone travertine natural stone, designed by Angelo Mangiarotti from Italy in the 1970s.
In excellent condition.
Made from natural travertine, a type of limestone with a characteristic porous texture and visible veining.
The chess pieces have a sleek, sculptural and minimalist block design where subtle indentations indicate the different pieces.
The board and pieces combine a light cream-colored stone with a warmer reddish-brown/terra hue.
The board is 45x45 cm
The largest chess pieces are approx 8 cm high
