Denim Rock & Blues
A composition of rhythm, color, and memory - born from worn jeans and brought back to life in a world of music.
The original denim fabric of a beloved garment forms the basis of this work. What was once worn, moved, and was part of daily life, now finds a new purpose here. The different pieces of denim fabric are brought together like individual musical notes: each shape has its own color, size, height, and character.
Deep night blues, bright blue, soft ice blue, shades of gray, white, and almost black alternate. The black lines, applied by hand beforehand and then filled with textile paint, give the composition its rhythm and rhythmic tension.
Like a piece of music in which each note sounds individually, but only together forms a whole, the shapes move up and down through the image.
Denim Rock & Blues carries the energy of rock, the depth of blues, and the freedom of improvisation. It is an ode to music as a universal language - to rhythm that can connect people, regardless of origin, age, or background.
Perhaps that is also why denim feels so natural here. Denim belongs to freedom, movement, street culture, and music; to people who go their own way. In this work, an everyday garment thus becomes something new: a landscape of sounds, built from fabric.
What was once a pair of jeans has now become a composition.
No longer a garment, but a visual piece of music.
