A superb stoneware liqueur set by Denbac, emblematic of post-war French ceramics.
The set comprises a slender bottle with a decorative ceramic stopper, eight matching tumblers, and a plate that doubles as a tray. A complete composition, both functional and decorative, now difficult to find in this condition and with so many pieces.
Each piece showcases remarkable flamed glaze work, blending shades of deep blue, nuanced gray, and honey brown. The natural drips, characteristic of stoneware firings, create unique organic effects and give the set a truly sculptural presence.
The bottle, with its fluid lines and elegant handle, embodies a modernist yet artisanal aesthetic, typical of Denbac's work. The compact, textured tumblers perfectly complement the set, while the tray unifies the composition, making it ideal for both serving and display.
Fully signed under each piece.
A set that will look equally at home on a casual table setting or in a contemporary, wabi-sabi, or 1950s-inspired interior.
