Beautiful pair of Delft Blue wall plates (20th century, probably 1950s-1970s), featuring classic reproductions of Dutch Masters:
Round plate: "Rembrandt's Mother" – after the famous painting by Gerard Dou (c. 1635). A wise old woman reads the Bible attentively, with a detailed Biblical scene in the book. Typical floral border in deep cobalt blue. Mark on bottom: "Delfts Holland – Rembrandt's Mother". Diameter approx. 30-40 cm (depending on exact measurement).
Oval plate: "The Man with the Soft Hat" – after Frans Hals († 1580-1666). Characterful portrait of a man with a wide soft hat and collar, powerful and expressive. Inscription on bottom: "The Man with the Soft Hat. n. Fr. Hals † 1580-1666". Floral and leaf border in traditional Delft Blue. Both plates in good, pristine condition – no chips, cracks, or restorations visible. Hand-painted/transfer decoration in authentic Delft Blue tones. Ideal as a decorative duo for lovers of Dutch art history, Delftware, or Golden Age portraits. Perfect combination with other reproductions of Rembrandt or Hals!
