About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a classic Dutch lidded vase, executed in traditional Delft Blue ceramics. The piece is characterized by its hand-painted decorations and the iconic lion figure, or 'foo dog', which serves as a finial on the lid.
The vase is made of white glazed ceramic with cobalt blue paintings. On one side, a detailed Dutch landscape with a windmill by the water is depicted, a scene deeply rooted in Dutch art history. The other side and the lid are adorned with lush floral motifs. The bottom is marked with 'Delft' and initials, indicating the origin and artisanal character of the piece.
The overall condition of the vase is good and consistent with its age. The glaze shows a fine craquelure pattern, a natural aging process that contributes to the authentic appearance and character of the object. The vase is complete with its accompanying, original lid.
This lidded vase is an elegant decorative object that looks beautiful on a dresser, mantelpiece, or in a display cabinet. It fits both classic and eclectic interiors and can serve as a standalone showpiece or as part of a collection of Delft pottery.
