About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
A decorative gong with a wooden wall mount. The gong plate is made of brass and has a hammered surface with a relief of a bird and branches. The wall mount is made of dark wood and has a leather mallet. Light signs of use.
It was a wedding gift for my grandparents in 1916 and served for years to call the family to the table.
I only wiped it with a cloth to avoid disturbing the patina further and to leave it up to the buyer whether it should shine.
The wall mount is 28 cm by 9 cm by 8 cm and the gong has a diameter of 22 cm.
