About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This decorative glass bowl was designed by Josef Hospodka for Chribska Glassworks in Czechoslovakia during the 1960s. The piece exemplifies the vibrant, organic forms characteristic of mid-century Bohemian glass design. Crafted from heavy, hand-blown glass, the bowl features a striking gradient that transitions from a deep pink rim to a warm amber and yellow base. The undulating, scalloped edges create a dynamic silhouette that catches and refracts light beautifully. The thick, clear glass base provides stability and enhances the luminous quality of the coloured glass above. The bowl remains in great condition, preserving its original clarity and vibrant colourway. The smooth surfaces and polished finish reflect the high-quality craftsmanship of the era. This piece serves as a compelling accent in both mid-century modern and contemporary interiors. It functions well as a standalone decorative object on a console or coffee table, or as part of a curated collection of art glass.
