Exceptional original De Sede DS88 modular system from the 1970s in distinctive, dark cognac-colored patchwork leather.
Thanks to its modular design, this extensive ensemble can be configured in a variety of ways – from a spacious corner arrangement to an open lounge setting.
The natural patina of the original leather, developed over decades, with its subtle cognac and tobacco hues, is particularly appealing.
Scope of the ensemble:
5 seat modules
3 backrest elements
1 corner element
4 storage boxes
2 rectangular leather cushions
1 original De Sede leather ball
1 magazine holder
Original De Sede warranty documents, including the original leather sample, are also included.
Provenance: The DS88 was purchased new approximately 50 years ago and has remained in the same family ever since. The ensemble is therefore from long-term private ownership and is offered together with the original De Sede warranty documents, including the original leather sample.
Condition
The DS88 is offered in authentic, unrestored vintage condition. The leather is generally well-preserved and displays a pronounced natural patina and the creases characteristic of its age.
There are some age- and use-related openings at certain seams:
1 × approx. 24 cm
4 × approx. 6 cm
3 × approx. 2 cm
The affected areas are located along the seams and are clearly shown in the photos.
The set is intentionally sold in its original, unrestored condition. The necessary repairs are already factored into the price.
Dimensions:
The stated dimensions of W 644 × D 94 × H 64 cm, seat height 40 cm, refer to the complete configuration shown. Due to its modular design, the DS88 can be arranged freely and set up in a much more compact configuration.
