Product description
This functional sofa DS-450 was designed by Thomas Althaus for the renowned Swiss manufacturer de Sede. The piece is characterized by its exceptional versatility and its clear, modern design based on intelligent functionality. The sofa is upholstered in high-quality “Living” leather in the color Umbra, a deep, earthy dark brown. It rests on a frame of matt brushed stainless steel, which provides stability and an elegant aesthetic. Thanks to the sophisticated mechanism, the seats can be individually rotated forward and the backrests adjusted in multiple stages, effortlessly transforming the sofa into a chaise longue or a comfortable daybed. The piece of furniture is in very well-maintained original condition from a non-smoking household. It was acquired in 2006 as a new exhibition piece from a brand furniture store and has been in the family's first ownership ever since. The original de Sede order confirmation from 2006 is available and will be provided with the purchase. The leather shows an authentic patina and slight, use-related creases that emphasize the character of the sofa, without damage or tears. The mechanical functions are fully intact and allow for smooth adjustment of all positions. Thanks to its timeless design and compact form, this designer piece seamlessly integrates into modern living concepts – ideal for living rooms, studies, or lounge areas where flexibility and Swiss craftsmanship are desired.
