Private sellerProduct description
I am offering for sale a very rare design classic from the premium German manufacturer Walter Knoll. This minimalist daybed was designed by Rolf Grunow in the 1950s and represents sophisticated Mid-Century Modernism in its purest form. The sofa impresses with its light, floating aesthetic. A flat solid wood platform rests on striking, geometrically curved sled legs made of black round steel. The iconic button tufting on the seat and backrest underscores the elegant 1950s character. Thanks to the functional folding mechanism of the backrest, the sofa can be transformed into a comfortable daybed or guest bed in no time. A low, solid-wood platform rests on distinctive, geometrically curved, sled-style legs made of black tubular steel. Iconic button tufting on the seat and backrest accentuates its elegant 1950s character. Thanks to a functional folding mechanism in the backrest, the sofa can be transformed into a comfortable daybed or guest bed in an instant. Condition: The sofa is in excellent original condition—a dream for avid collectors. The brown woven fabric, with its characteristic period texture, remains original and is free of tears or holes. The wooden frame displays a warm finish with minimal signs of age, authentically reflecting its vintage character.
