Majestic Dassi Sideboard with Integrated Mirror and Carved Panel - Italian Design, 1940s/1950s
A true work of art of Italian design, this imposing sideboard with integrated mirror is a creation of the renowned manufacturer Dassi. It represents a magnificent example of the style that characterized Italian production between the end of Art Deco and the early Mid-Century, combining grandeur, refinement and functionality.
The sideboard is made with a skillful combination of different wood essences, with a glossy finish that enhances the grain. The base is solid and geometric, while the main body stands out for its wide horizontal development. The central part of the sideboard features a charming compartment framed in lighter wood and embellished with a distinctive carved or embossed panel depicting a naturalistic scene, a recurring and iconic detail of Dassi design from this period, presumably zodiac signs.
An imposing rectangular mirror rests on the sideboard, perfectly integrated into the design thanks to its wooden frame that echoes the materials and finishes. Its considerable size adds depth and brightness to the room.
