Original Danish Raadvad hand slicing machine. Based on various research, the following information appears to be the most common:
** Raadvad was an industrial area on the northern side of Copenhagen where, in the 18th century, the company Raadvaddum began producing various professional tools.
In 1939, the Raadvad Model 294 slicing machine was designed by Ove Larson. Production of this classic (cast) iron slicing machine presumably continued until the 1990s.
It is suspected that this machine, which is in very good condition, is between 25 and 35 years old.
It is notable that the older models have a different logo featuring a crown; this logo also appears newer and is different. From 1958 onwards, the company was permitted to display the royal coat of arms.
Online, you can find various machines in diverse colors and patinas. In addition to being functional and practical for slicing bread (baguette) or cheese, the slicing machines were and are also used as bookshelves or other decorative items.** Weight is around 3 kg, height is +/- 24 cm and width +/- 35 cm.
Please note, the knife is sharp; it is advised not to let children play with it!
