Danish pendant lamp from the 2000s, continuing the tradition of Scandinavian lighting design. The piece combines the layered shade construction characteristic of Northern European design philosophy with a practical height adjustment system, offering a solution that is both functional and aesthetically aligned with mid-century modern interiors. The construction is based on an arrangement of metal discs of varying diameters, layered and connected through a central element. The largest disc, forming the main body of the shade, measures forty-two centimetres in diameter and gives the lamp its distinctive, expansive silhouette. Smaller discs positioned above create a system that directs light downward while shielding the source from direct view. The spiral suspension cord allows for smooth height adjustment within a range of up to eighty-five centimetres, making the lamp versatile in various arrangements. The white metal finish emphasises the minimalist character of the design. Danish lighting design from the second half of the twentieth century established standards that designers continue to reference today. The concept of the layered lamp — where light passes through successive tiers, softening intensity and eliminating glare — was born in Scandinavian studios and became one of the defining features of Northern European design philosophy. This example, though produced in the new millennium, clearly draws from that heritage, translating proven solutions into contemporary production. The lamp works well above a dining table, kitchen island, or as lighting for a living area. The E27 socket ensures compatibility with a wide range of light sources, including energy-efficient LED bulbs. Height adjustment allows the lamp to suit both standard ceiling heights and taller spaces. Good condition. Surface shows scratches and wear marks from previous use.
