Product description
Johannes Andersen designed these Mid-Century Modern wall cabinets during the 1960s, exemplifying the refined craftsmanship of the Danish Modern movement. The clean, architectural silhouette and rich wood grain make this pair a canonical representation of Scandinavian design from the era, highly sought after by collectors of authentic vintage furniture.
Executed in wood en teak veneer, the exterior features a warm finish that highlights the natural variations and linear patterns in the grain. Each cabinet is equipped with double doors featuring subtle, integrated wooden pulls that maintain the minimalist aesthetic without the need for metal hardware. The interior reveals a contrasting lighter maple finish, complete with adjustable shelving to accommodate various storage needs. The precise joinery and framed door panels reflect the high production standards typical of Danish manufacturing during this period.
The cabinets remain in highly presentable condition, retaining their original finish and structural integrity. The wood has developed a natural patina over the decades, adding depth and character to the surface. The internal shelving and hinges function smoothly, preserving the practical utility of the design.
These floating wall cabinets offer an elegant storage solution for contemporary and vintage-inspired interiors alike. They serve as functional focal points in a living room, study, or dining area, pairing seamlessly with other Mid-Century Modern furnishings while keeping floor space unobstructed.
