20th century Belgian school circa 1970 Bottom signature of the Belgian artist Daniel de Clercq Belgian artist who studied at the Royal Academy of Arts in Mons. Painting on canvas with original simple wooden frame Dimensions: 70cm x 60cm Very good condition. This beautiful painting entitled "Le crépuscule des Dieux" (Twilight of the Gods) is a surrealist work featuring a setting rich in symbolism and intriguing elements. At the center of the composition, an abstract figure with angular, organic forms seems to emerge from an irregular platform. This figure evokes a fantastic creature, adding a dreamlike dimension to the work. The background is dominated by a bright yellow color, creating a luminous, unreal atmosphere. A reddish, textured, gradated sun hangs in the sky, accentuating the surrealist mood. To the left, mast-like vertical structures bear flag-like geometric shapes, adding a touch of mystery and incongruity. This painting is a high-quality oil on canvas, framed in black. The color palette is predominantly bright yellow, complemented by touches of green, red, black and bluish gray.
