Product description
Cylinder Wall Light in Milk Glass by Michael Bang for Holmegaard, Denmark, 1980s
Sculptural cylinder wall light designed by Michael Bang for Holmegaard in Denmark during the 1980s. The design combines an elongated shade in white milk glass with an elegantly curved wooden wall support, beautifully balancing the translucent glass with the warmth of the natural wood.
The glass shade appears to hang freely from the end of the wooden arm, giving the lamp a light and almost weightless character. When illuminated, the milk glass diffuses the light into a soft, warm glow while emphasising its gently tapered form.
The lamp is in very good vintage condition, with only minor signs of age and use. The glass is beautifully preserved, and the original Holmegaard label is still partially present. An elegant and distinctive example of Michael Bang’s lighting designs for the renowned Danish glass manufacturer.
