This is a charming CWS Biscuits tin by Crumpsall & Cardiff, originating from England and dating from the 1920s–1930s. The tin stands out due to its detailed relief decoration and nostalgic appearance, making it a special collector's item for lovers of historical packaging.
The tin is crafted from metal and features an atmospheric, embossed scene of two figures in a street setting, surrounded by a decorative floral border. The colors are subtle with accents in green, pink, and silver tones, contributing to the authentic vintage look. The bottom bears the inscription 'C.W.S. Biscuits Crumpsall & Cardiff'. It is a rarer elongated octagonal hinged tin. The lid is deep-pressed and subsequently lithographically printed and hand-colored. Centrally located in an oval medallion are two girls in pink jackets in a Victorian street, entirely in the style of Kate Greenaway. Surrounding this is a border of lilies of the valley and green accents. The condition reflects its age and use, with an authentic patina that enhances the object's character.
