Product description
Authentic and very rustic Calvados jug, crafted in Normandy during the 1960s by the famous Poterie Turgis in Noron-la-Poterie. This handcrafted piece of Norman tradition is made of raw chocolate brown salt-glazed stoneware. It stands out with its rich relief decoration applied to the bulging belly, representing an apple branch laden with its fruits and leaves. The front features a wide contrasting clay band displaying the embossed inscription "CALVADOS". The structure has its side carrying handle and retains its original stopper cover, molded into the mass. A superb piece of regional folk art, ideal for perfecting a retro bar or bringing an authentic local touch. Features: • Manufacturer: Poterie Turgis (Noron, Normandy) • Style: Folk Art / Local Tradition • Period: Circa 1965-1975 • Dimensions: Height 20 cm | Length 16 cm | Width 13 cm • Condition: Splendid vintage condition. The stoneware is perfectly sound, without any chips, the original black sealing wax of the stopper is intact.
