Product description
This set of six Mamezara (literally "bean plates", a term designating a small format here of 8 cm in diameter and 2 cm in height). Made of speckled stoneware, they feature a hand-painted Ume (plum tree) decoration, a Japanese symbol of perseverance and renewal.
Each piece bears on the reverse the "crown" signature, emblematic of quality Japanese productions intended for export (1960-1980 period). These artisanal pieces are ideally designed for serving soy sauce (sushi), presenting condiments, or as tea bag rests.
