Gräflich Ortenburg | 42 cm
Vibrant orange and a lush leaf motif: This cordless vase lamp combines vintage ceramic from Gräflich Ortenburg with a handcrafted lampshade made of an exceptional, intensely colored fabric.
The vase comes from the Gräflich Ortenburg ceramic manufactory and is coated with a rich, glossy orange glaze. Its softly rounded shape is defined by the high-set handle and the slender neck – a typical mid-century design that, despite the bold color, has a pleasingly understated feel.
I paired it with a cylindrical lampshade featuring a large-scale leaf motif. Dark browns and violets meet pink, orange, and vibrant yellow. The fabric is particularly beautiful when the light is switched on: The delicate veins of the leaves begin to glow, making the pattern almost graphic. At the same time, the shade echoes the warm orange and yellow tones of the ceramic.
I paired it with a cylindrical lampshade featuring a large-scale leaf motif. As is typical with these vase lamps, the vintage vase has not been drilled or permanently altered. The lamp's construction is completely reversible, preserving the original ceramic and its collector's value.
The lamp is cordless and therefore independent of a power outlet – it can be used on a sideboard, nightstand, or dining table, as well as on a shelf or, in summer, on a balcony or patio. The rechargeable LED light is charged via USB-C and can be controlled by remote.
